About Maasai Mara

Discover Maasai Mara

The Maasai Mara is Kenya’s most celebrated reserve: rolling golden grassland dotted with acacias, cut through by the Mara and Talek rivers. It holds some of the highest densities of lions, cheetahs and leopards in Africa, so big-cat sightings are part of almost every game drive.

From July to October, more than a million wildebeest and zebra arrive from the Serengeti, and the river crossings draw visitors from around the world. Outside migration season the Mara is quieter, greener and still full of resident wildlife, with lower rates at many camps.
