About Tsavo East

Discover Tsavo East

Tsavo East is one of the oldest and largest national parks in Kenya. Its flat, open plains and dry bush make for wide horizons and a true sense of wilderness, with far fewer vehicles than the better-known parks.

The park is famous for its elephants, which dust-bathe in the red earth and turn a striking rusty colour. Along the Galana river you’ll find Lugard Falls, crocodiles and hippos, while the Yatta Plateau, one of the world’s longest lava flows, runs along the park’s edge.
