You will be met at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, assisted with baggage, and transported to the Nairobi Serena Hotel where you will be staying. Then your tourโs driver-guide will provide a quick rundown of what to expect after youโve checked in.
Nairobi has much to do in a day. Your guide will take you up each morning. Visit the Daphne Sheldrick, a nursery and rehab facility for orphaned elephants, rhinos, zebras, and other animals, to begin exploring this lovely nation. Daphne was the first to nurture an orphaned elephant using a technique that is now commonly used.
David Sheldrickโs wife, Daphne, has devoted her life to conservation. These newborns are released into Tsavo East National Park and cared for by other reintroduced orphans. The Giraffe Center is supposed to raise endangered Rothschild giraffes. Jock Leslie-Melville, the Kenyan grandson of a Scottish Earl, and his wife Betty kidnapped a newborn giraffe to start a breeding program at Langata, where the facility is now.
Since then, the initiative has successfully introduced multiple Rothschild giraffe-breeding couples to Kenyaโs national parks. Some stores are entertaining. We love Langataโs Utamaduni. Each room of this colonial mansion has been crafted by different tribes and craftspeople. They range from basic to complex. Kazuri Bead Factory.
The Karen Kazuri workshopโs ladies hand-shape each ceramic bead, which means โlittle and lovelyโ in Swahili. Before stringing, the beads are kiln fired, glazed, and then fired again. After lunch at Utamaduni, continue the day at the Karen Blixen Museum. You may learn about Kenyaโs history by visiting Karen Blixenโs property. It gives a glimpse of colonial Nairobi life. Return to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
You will be taken to Wilson Airport in the wee hours of the morning. Take off for Amboseli, where you may take a flight known for its breathtaking vistas of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africaโs tallest mountain and the highest free-standing mountain in the world. From the lowly 4000 ft. of the Amboseli plains, Mount Kilimanjaroโs imposing 19 340 ft (1200 meters).
Additionally, Cynthia Moss, a noted researcher, has studied and recorded the elephant herds in Amboseli. As soon as you land at the picturesque airstrip, your guide will meet you and take you on a drive to see the wildlife. The ecology of Amboseli is rich with diverse animal species. Most of the parkโs wildlife congregates in and around the spring-fed wetlands when itโs dry.
Tawi Lodge, a cosy boutique hotel in a secluded section of Kilitomeโs reserve, is where youโll spend the night. If youโre looking for something to do while youโre not out on a game drive, Tawi Lodge has a swimming pool and massage area where you can have a range of massages and beauty treatments, and you can soak in a hot tub at sunset while watching animals drink at the neighbouring waterhole. You may go on open-air 4ร4 game drives, night game drives, or bird-watching excursions while staying at the resort.
This morningโs flight takes you (via Nairobi) to Laikipia, on the slopes of Mount Kenya. Thereโs never a dull moment, whether you go game viewing on an ATV, horseback, camel, or truck, raft the Ngโare Narok River, mountain bike down the escarpment, play tennis, or relax by the pool. Children go on safari with their safari directors, while older teens yearn for all-terrain vehicles like this (ATVs).
Spending the night in one of Loisabaโs one-of-a-kind Star Beds will be an unforgettable experience. We sleep on massive four-poster beds, encased in gauzy mosquito netting and situated atop high platforms, with nothing but the big and glorious African skies above us as a roof. Itโs the pinnacle of joy.
You will now fly to the spectacular Maasai Mara. The lone Acacia tree against the cobalt sky; undulating grasslands teeming with life; the languid bends of the Mara River teeming with hippos and crocs; and the unusual red โshukaโ of a Maasai herdsman who goes on with their customary pace, largely oblivious to all the activity around them.
Experience Kenyaโs breathtaking environment and animals at Ol Seki Hemingways Mara, a luxury tented camp nestled in the Naboisho Conservancy and near the world-renowned Masai Mara Game Reserveโs magnificent location. Each of the ten safari tents offers a stunning 270-degree view of the Mara grasslands. These tents provide elegance and comfort in the African wilderness.
You will have the opportunity to see some of natureโs unique beauties, including as the annual wildebeest migration (July-October) and the Big Five.
